RIP Paul Walker. Never seen the F&F movies, but he was a fellow E36 M3 owner and lover. He will be missed. I guess I need to go watch those movies now.

The series went from something I disliked to a guilty pleasure. Enjoy. Also nice ride. The E36 doesn't get enough love.

It's true. E36 has a lot of character, and although I understand it isn't a perfect car, I love mine to the death. Which could be any given day, never really know...

I know that feel. Picked up an E36 325i sedan as my first "grown up" car when I was in college, the M was out of my price range back then. A few minor mods went a long way to improving the driving feel over what was a pretty stellar baseline for an "anonymous sedan" Coilovers, braided stainless lines, intake, mild exhaust, high output coils, lightly rolled fenders to make room for 235s etc. Not really going to win any straight line contests, but oh man the corner carving. Every time something went wrong it broke my heart a little. After almost a decade of faithful service it decided to puke up a power steering pump pulley, and take the fan with it. I'm currently deciding its fate. It's tough.

Ha, that's how I felt about them at first, too. After I got done trying to pretend I was too cool for a good guilty pleasure, I realized that they were pretty awesome, not to mention almost as quotable as Monty Python, which is a feat in itself. Car chases! Ridiculous stunts! YES.
